Conference Theme: Local Problems, Local Solutions

Our 2020 Think Trees NM conference will focus on challenges that are unique to tree care in New Mexico and the arid southwest, and highlight the local experts who work hard every day to tackle those challenges. Our local experts include speakers from private industry, local government, New Mexico State University, New Mexico State Forestry, and non-profit organizations. Joining us from the national stage:

  • Dr. Larry Costello, Consulting Arborist, and Nurseryman at Oracle Oak Nursery will speak on managing irrigation of trees during drought.
  • Dr. Linda Chalker-Scott, Washington State University Extension educator, author, and co-host of The Garden Professors Blog, will bust some urban myths surrounding landscape trees.
  • Dana Karcher, Project Developer for the Davey Resource Group and member of the International Society of Arboriculture Board of Directors will help motivate us for the work ahead.
